My wife Renee’ and I are so glad to be back in Texas, especially the Hill Country. The year and a half we spent in the Peoples Republic of California was a bit of a culture shock. No offense to some of my family and friends that remain there. I truly love country music since I heard my first David Allen Coe song I played: “Put Another Log On The Fire”. My wife hates that song. Country music speaks to my heart and my heart has been listening for years. I love the way the late, great song writer Harlin Howard put it, “Country music is three chords and the truth”. I feel like I should be writing my own version of “I’ve Been Every Where Man”, but call it, “I’ve Been Every Where In Texas Man”. In 1978 I got my first radio job in El Paso at a country station and since then have spent the majority of my radio career in Houston, Dallas, Fort Worth and a few other small Texas towns mostly playing country on the radio and in my truck . I have a 17 year old daughter, Audrey and 2 crazy dogs, Spencer and Sara. I love floatin’ the river near New Braunfels. It’s been a family tradition for several years now. I’m looking forward to meeting everyone in Kerrville which is possible since there’s only 22,000 people here. See you at the Walmart on Junction Highway.
